This design is completed with stars surrounding the effigy representing the colonies of the United States of America.

The reverse of the 1921-S Morgan Silver Dollar bears the heraldic eagle holding an olive branch, symbolizing peace, and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing war in its talons. The reverse also features the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “ONE DOLLAR” and “In God We Trust”, the motto of the US.
