The reverse of the 1923-S Peace Silver Dollar Coin bears the portrayal of an American bald eagle, signifying the purpose of Peace, as it is depicted perched on a rock engraved with “PEACE.” The other inscriptions depict the country of issue and face value as “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. ONE DOLLAR.” The US motto, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” is imprinted below the country inscription.

The Symbolism and Significance of the Peace Silver Dollars!

The Peace Silver Dollar design was finalized after a competition won by Italian Sculptor Anthony De Francisci. The story behind the design is also quite interesting: Anthony was unable to get a model for the design and decided to model his wife, Teresa. The US motto on the obverse doesn’t have a minting error, but the use of “V” instead of “U” in the word ‘Trust’, reverts back to the Roman roots of the sculptor.

Such unique factors and features make the 1923-S Peace Silver Dollar Coin an investment-grade holding with great collectible value!
